070220 - Grand Canyon : Increible, Increible, Increible!

There is no doubt of the capacity human kind has demonstrated through history of its ability to create impressing things, either of great dimensions, abundant beauty or overwhelming contrasts; but not even the greatest of man creations can be compared with the capacity nature itself has to by means of its on elements and time create the most incredible wonders you can imagine… this is what I thought after arriving to the Grand Canyon.

After a very needed good night of sleep, today I took the loop route around Coconino National Forest to find some amazing landscapes leaded with out any doubt by the endless abysms of multiple shades of terracotta and beautiful contrast with the blue sky that the Grand Canyon has to offer. But for my own surprise it was not only the Canyon landscape the one that would amaze me: Route 180 between Flagstaff and the Canyon and routes 64, 89 and 545 which I took in my way back were full of different landscapes, from the arid canyons, going through huge yellow grass valleys with little green trees to the black mountains of dry lava by the base of Sunset Volcano. Basically, another route to recommend and for now is in top of the list!

Enjoy de pics and the video in the Grand Canyon.

Hi Fosy!
I loved all of your pictures from Joshua Tree and the Grand Canyon. How did all of your camping stuff work? (That I so carefully helped you pick out :-) ) How did you like Flagstaff? That was (is) one of my favorite towns to hit going cross country.

We miss you already here in San Diego but it looks like you're having a great time....I'm glad!

Hugs!

Viejo Fosy,

Animo y mucha suerte!

Hernandez,

Great pics. Great stories. I'm checking everyday to see the blue line on the map start heading up north towards Chi-town. Don't be in any hurry though, we are enjoying a blizzard...sounds like you don't enjoy riding in snow :) But hopefully in a few weeks we will be having some nice spring-time (san diego like) weather... hey at least one can hope!
